This was my first game to shoot with Nikon. I was very impressed.
All pics taken with a Nikon D4 or D800 and a Nikon 400mm 2.8 VR, Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VRII and Nikon 24-120 f/4VR.
I wanted to get a different angle by getting close up to the smoke. This is what I got.
BACK TO COLLEGE STATION!
As you all probably know, I am a graduate of Texas A&M, so it is always incredible when I get to cover the Aggie Football games every year. I don’t think the feeling will ever wear off.
Here are a few highlights of the game. Pretty much everything was shot with the 400mm 2.8L IS on the 1D Mark IV or 5D Mark III. The exterior shot of Kyle Field was with a 24-105mm 4L IS on a 5D3. The interior shot was with a 16-35mm 2.8L II on a 5D3. The band was with a 300mm 2.8L IS.
I was born in New Orleans and my grandfather was one of the original season ticket holders. We had season tickets from the very first season until Katrina hit in 2005. In my years as a photographer, this is actually the first time I have shot the Saints, though I have attended dozens of the games. Getting to shoot the Saints was a treat, though when shooting, you can never really enjoy the game like you would if you were watching at home or attending.
Anyway, here are a few pics.
It was great to get to see Coach Slocum honored at the game.
