New York at Houston 8/18/10 :: Houston Sports Photographer

I just grabbed a new (to me) Canon EF 300mm 2.8L IS and wanted to test it out. So I grabbed my Canon 7D with Canon BG-E7 Grip and headed out to Minute Maid Park. While shooting from the 1st base photo pit, I got to chat with veteran sports photographer George Bridges, which was a real treat.

Now, I will be the first to admit that I suck at shooting baseball. It is easily my worst sport. I’m just not patient enough. My editors will be next in line to tell you how much I suck at baseball.

So the lens did well. I enjoyed it. But I am stubborn, and love to hand hold my long glass. Which was great until about the 8th inning. Then I was really tired. No worries, the game just had a few outs. Except it went to extra innings and was over in 16 innings (or was it 14? I was pretty delirious at that point.)

Anyway, here are the pics. Enjoy.
